Frankly there are times I wish money will fall from sky and I get to travel as much as I can and write my travel stories ... Hahaha...
My recent trip was a 3D2N short getaway to Kota Kinabula with my parents . It turned out to be a food trip because all I can remembered was I kept eating and eating during the entire trip.... Hahaha ! I thought I would broke the scale when I got back to Singapore , and much to my delight , I didn't ! Mom dearest told me because we are eating lots of fresh fishes and seafood and these food wasn't fattening at all ....
There weren't much planning prior to the trip since Uncle Christmas & Auntie Maggie are residing in KK and I just want my parents to have a relaxing and bonding trip with the relatives and not stressing them too much out. It made the trip even more exiting when we learnt that Auntie Edna was able to join us from KL! And so we look forward to the trip with a lot of enthusiasm.
First time on Silk Air Flight, and I love their meals on board! So much better than their sister company, in my opinion. Oops! 😱
As expected , Auntie Maggie and Uncle Christmas came to pick us up at the airport upon our arrival and straight away they brought us to buy dried sea cucumbers which according to my mom
is a "must buy " while in KK.
It was quite a late lunch by the time we finished up with the service apartment checked in. We were brought to a coffee shop for it's famous fish slice Mee Hoon soup. Gosh ! Don't get fool by the look of the simple bowl of bee Hoon when served, it was really good... The fish is so fresh and the fish soup is just so different from ours and frankly I really prefer theirs. Totally beyond word description.
There are plenty of side dishes to add on. And greedy me really feel like getting every one of them! Hahaha! I really want to specially mention their famous prawn balls and the Chives dumplings. These are 2 of their popular selections among the patrons and it really didn't disappoint us too, especially their special prawn balls.
Omg, looking at the picture, I already start to miss this ......
Check out their website for more info if you are keen http://www.jongfapai.com.my/
Understand from my cousin, the branch we visited was at hilltop. They have several branches in KK.
Can someone "ta bao " for me please ? 😜😜

Although I had been traveling to Shanghai for numerous times, I would always miss the spring flowers bloom for the past years. So I was literally jumping with joy during the recent business trip when the driver that picked me up every morning told me the plum flowers bloom was early this year and since I have a longer business trip than usual, I could just pop over to the plum flowers garden during the weekend
I am always drooling myself with envy whenever I chance upon beautiful flowers blooming pictures in the net or from friend’s travel pictures. Due to my job nature, I have never been able to plan any holiday during the popular Sakura blooming period. So on Sunday, I told myself “die die” I must visit this garden, although deep inside me I knew I have to “battle” through the weekend Sunday crowd.
It wasn’t really a big garden but I still couldn’t hold my excitement once I stepped into the garden that is filled with full bloom of pink and white plum flowers. I wish I had my DSLR camera with me instead of my phone camera actually. Haha!
It was rather an amusing experience to people watch while taking my stroll in the garden. It was quite upsetting to see some almost “kill” the plum flowers just to try perfecting their pictures, while some almost at the verge of falling while trying to capture the macro shot of the flowers.
I spent almost 2 hours in the small garden, I wish I can stay longer but I gave in to my hungry stomach as it was already past lunch time… hahaha

I have to admit, Florence was the most “look forward” stop of this entire Italy trip. Before the trip, my beloved friends (at times I wonder are they my angels or my devils) have been injecting “poisons” into me, telling me that Florence is really a paradise for luxury indulgences. But they are just so right! Haha! It was really a crazy, or perhaps mad is a better word, shopping spree at the Mall Outlet the whole afternoon. These are the times I simply wish money can be like raindrops falling freely from the sky. Haha!
We arrived in Florence the night before and had a not too bad Tuscan Dinner which was included in the tour package. The steak turned out to be better than what I had expected, after all based on my past experience usually meals included in the package was not that so fantastic. So I was wrong this round. Hahaha….
The morning walk leading to the Florence’s famous Plaza Del Duomo all the way to the Ponte Vechio bridge was really a pleasant one, all thanks to the pedestrian only streets, occasionally sighting a horse or two. Our lovely local guide is really amazing, simply love her way of getting us interested to the history, culture, architecture, and royalty of Florence.
Florence iconic landmark – Basilica di Santa Maria del Fiore, commonly known as The Duomo.
The façade of the Duomo was really impressive and the Cathedral was really huge. I couldn’t help but to keep clicking the camera, searching the best angle to capture the Cathedral into the memory box. What impressed me the most is actually the Dome built of bricks. At times I just couldn’t figure out how on earth people from the olden days can build something so impressive and so lasting.
Doors of Paradise
Piazza Della Signoria, the political hub of Florence
Ponte Vecchio Bridge – a medieval bridge spanning the river Arno in Florence.
After the guided morning walk, we were given 2 hours of free and easy time to explore Florence on our own, including taking our lunch. I remembered we end up shopping for some leather products instead. Haha! Lunch was simple at a café but a delish one, and very soon we were all on the way to the Factory outlet, The Mall Outlet.
It is not difficult to get overly excited once arrived at the Mall Outlet. And yes, despite reminded myself several times in the morning, I still forgotten to take pictures of the beautiful outlet, especially a pictures of me with many shopping bags on hand. Haha!
For those who are keen to see how the Mall Outlet look like, you can easily Google for it over the net. I am sure there will be lots of lovely pictures popping out. Haha!
The highlight of the outlet was of cos the huge Prada outlet. And that’s where I discovered the comfort of Prada shoes at a very reasonable price. Yes, the Euro 220 (before tax rebate) shoes do exist! If you are lucky you may even find less than Euro 100 shoes per pair on sale! I am still wearing my Prada shoes a lot today and still remain as one of my favorite pair!
